Gary Jackson

Until 1999, Gary Jackson was Managing Director for Cisco Systems Australia and is a former Vice-President of Asia Operations for Cisco Systems Asia Pacific based in Singapore.
He is now Vice President, Asia Pacific, for EMC. EMC Corporation is the world leader in information storage systems, software and networks. His role in operations coversc regions like Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. His responsibilities include spearheading sales, marketing and channel strategy to extend EMC's penetration into existing and new markets in Asia.
As former Managing Director of Microsoft Australia and with a long association with some of the major companies in the Information Technology Industry, Gary Jackson is synonymous with success.
With a Bachelor of Applied Science (Electrical) from Melbourne University, he began his working life as a design engineer with Information Electronics Ltd in Canberra. From installing and training staff in the use of intelligent terminals for such clients as Ansett, BHP and the Defence Department, he moved into sales and within two and a half years was responsible for all national sales.
Keen to move into the new-wave mini computer area, he joined Prime Computer as Branch Manager Victoria, to start-up operation for a new product in Australia. Quickly achieving revenue targets, Gary re-located to Canberra to start up a branch there. He and his team of four obtained sales into the Australian Survey Office, the Australian Taxation Office, AGPS and the Department of Business and Consumer Affairs.
Ultimately succeeding to the rank of National Sales Director, Gary was responsible for national sales, as well as Papua New Guinea and Fiji. Gary's seven years with Prime saw the company go from ground zero to over $60 million in revenue and with a staff of more than 400.
In 1984 he moved to Pyramid Technology, part of the Lionel Singer Corporation, initially at CEO Australia, then as Director Asian ultimately being appointed Vice President Asia/Middle East.
Gary Jackson has been involved in several "turnaround" situations and is recognized as an excellent leader and motivator of small and large teams.
