Dr Gael Jennings

Dr Gael Jennings is Executive Director of MediaDoc Media Management and Training, which specialises in executive media training, media management, public speaking, facilitation and hosting, is a strategic advisor to government, specialising in media, communications, education, health, and medicine, and is an award-winning author and speaker.


Formerly Chief Executive Officer of Greatconnections, a not-for-profit organisation that recruits and matches professionals and executives to perform pro bono business consultancy work in the non-profit sector, and Development Producer for ABC TV Specialist Factual and Documentary developing science, natural history, religious and ethical and indigenous films with the independent sector, Gael has over 20 years experience as a publicly recognised and award-winning TV and radio broadcaster.
She holds a First Class Honours degree in Science from the University of Melbourne, and PhD in Immunology from The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.
Her 20+ years of media experience includes as the inaugural national science and medical reporter for ABC TV news, current affairs ( 7.30 Report) and features (Quantum, Catalyst), as host of the mid-morning and afternoon programs on 774 ABC Radio Melbourne and Victoria, and anchor of SBS TV’s weekly current affairs programme “Insight”.
Currently on the Board of Museums Victoria (Chair Research and Collection Committee) a member of the Ministerial Advisory Council for Science and Mathematics (Victoria), and The Great Melbourne Telescope Advisory Committee Gael has just completed tenure on The Academic Board of the Australian Institute of Management.
Gael is a regular on, ABC2 TV “News Breakfast”, Steve Vizard’s morning show MTR radio, and occasional co-host of 774 ABC Radio’s “Conversation Hour.” She is the author of the award-winning children’s book “Sick As…Bloody Moments in the History of Medicine”.
