Paul Jennings' career as an impersonator began in the GTV9 announcer's booth, taking off local personalities. The word leaked to Graham Kennedy that here was a talent which could quickly raise a laugh with his mimicry.
Paul Jennings soon became a regular on "In Melbourne Tonight". In the early seventies, with current affairs television coming into its own, Mike Willesee grabbed him to fill a vacancy created by Paul Hogan.
Paul Jennings stayed with Willesee for several years and then came a unique moment - face to face with Hawke on television.
Paul Jennings has many TV credits including In Melbourne Tonight with Frankie J. Holden, Good Morning Australia, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Sale of the Century and Midday Show, as well as being the voice behind "Rubbery Figures". Steve Vizard's "Tonight Live" show saw an appearance by Paul Jennings which nearly caused a riot!!
