Kevin Bailey
Kevin Bailey is the Managing Director and founder of The Money Managers, which he established in April 1996 and now manages over one billion in funds. The company takes enormous pride in providing professional advice to clients, as well as a continued commitment to improving standards within the financial planning profession.
Kevin has been practising as a Financial Planner since 1986 after several years of managing a private portfolio.
In December 1998, Kevin Bailey was presented the National Industry Award: "The Financial Planner of the Year”. In 1997 Kevin was also selected as the Premier Adviser of the Year, an award independently judged by Professor Tom Smith of the Australian Graduate School of Management. The award was for the “recognition of leadership in the financial planning industry, managing operations with efficiency, integrity and vision, and particularly in adding value to clients.” In 2002 he was the highest rated adviser in Australia by independant rating agency, Adviser Ratings.
Kevin is an enthusiastic and active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and currently serves as a director and sits on the National Board. He was the Victorian State Chairman in 1995/96, and has held board responsibilities for both initial and continuing education and public awareness. He has also held the position of Chairman of the Victorian State Practitioners Committee, the Secretary of the National Practitioners Advisory Committee and the Practitioners Assessment Committee. Also to his credit, Kevin was a member of the National Committee for the Review of Rules of Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics, and also sat on the Validation Group during the drafting of Competency Standards for Financial Planning.
Kevin Bailey has served on the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) Industry Liaison Committee. He is past chairman of the FPA Victorian Professional Development Committee and the FPA Professional Development(P.D.) Editorial Committee. He was also a member of the National Disciplinary Committee entrusted with the maintenance and enforcement of high standards of professional conduct for members of the FPA.

As well as being a respected columnist on personal finance for the Saturday Herald Sun newspaper, Kevin is a popular broadcaster, and can be heard throughout metropolitan and country Victoria on ABC Radio on Saturday mornings. He has spoken at numerous industry forums on many subjects, including successfully running a fee based financial planning practice, understanding investment risk and how to provide superior client service. Kevin has been a guest lecturer at the RMIT University for the degree course in Financial Planning and has also been a regular presenter on Channel Nine.
