Matthew Barker

Matthew Barker has been a professional actor/ singer since 1978 when he first appeared in “the Sullivans” as a soldier and began appearing in regular speaking roles on nearly every TV show made out of Melbourne; including Neighbours, Skyways, Cop Shop, Prisoner, Carson’s Law etc. Matthew also appeared in a number of movies and TV commercials.
From 1985 - 1989 Matthew was part of Australia’s Number 1 Acappella group “The Phones” and travelled the country performing at major events, corporate functions, comedy clubs and festivals. In 1987 he appeared on Melbourne’s Carols by Candlelight at the Myer music bowl and made regular appearances on shows like “Good Morning Australia” “Good Morning Melbourne” “The midday show” and 6 appearances on “Hey, Hey It’s Saturday”.
Matthew has appeared in leading roles in many musical theatre productions, both amateur and professional including a world premier Australian Opera in Adelaide Matthew’s voice over work includes a number of commercials and cartoon series. In one animated movie, Matthew created 6 different character voices
Matthew Barker has performed in front of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, Prime Ministers and other heads of government. From 1990 to now Matthew has run his own entertainment company Eventertainment and continues to sing with his own groups, “The Singing Waiters” and “The Harmoniacs”.
