Mike Conway
Mike Conway has a “can do” and passionate, and often “off the wall”, fun approach to life and his work. He is the General Manager Business Affairs for The Wiggles Group of Companies, with the mission of taking the group and its strong brand name and marketing to the world.
He is also Director and business leader for Cricketcoach.com, the leading independent provider of cricket learning materials worldwide, a musician and ageing soccer player. Previously Mike Conway was General Manager responsible for growth and development at Standards Australia for 4 years. He was instrumental in reforming and reinventing Standards into what now is a high profile brand. In that time the Group became Australia’s no 1 publisher on the web, formed one of the largest management assurance groups globally and successfully acquired KPMG quality management systems group. At an early stage he recognised the importance of the internet and is constantly searching for new web based solutions to enhance and revise the already successful Standards approach.
Mike Conway now brings this approach to the Wiggles. He recruits people with the behavioural traits necessary to enjoy a fast ambiguous and often risky environment and provides them with skills and learning to be successful in their time with the organisation but also planning their future careers. He places great store on a balanced life, particularly given he has a family with four kids.
Mike Conway is engaged by a range of high profile clients, including the CSIRO. He has worked very closely with Dr John Yu for three years, advising on management aspects relating to the move of the Kids Hospital from Camperdown to Westmead.
Mike is also heavily involved in a range of other activities. He is an owner and key driver of a major e-learning program in sport with some famous names including Mike Whitney, Justin Langer and Gavin Robertson – the first piece of this program is called www.cricketcoach.com In his spare time he is also a professional musician!
Mike Conway holds an MBA, a first degree in social sciences, professional qualifications in health services management and is a member of the Strategic Planning Society of the UK.
