Commencing his business career in 1986, John founded an IT company, The Automated Office which he drove and nurtured to become the largest and most profitable of its type in the country. He was a hardworking and wealthy man.
Just one year later, however, Australia's rapidly changing IT marketplace bought about the dramatic demise of The Automated Office. John lost everything except the clothes on his back, and unbelievably, found himself lining up in the dole queue to survive. Yet still he was determined to build a successful, sustainable business for him and his family.
It was also at this time that John began to question his definition of 'success'. Was financial reward and empire building enough, or was there more to it?
Now as the owner of Planet Earth Cleaning Company, a company that is not only financially successful (growing more than 1200 percent in its first five years), but matches his personal values and philosophies, provides work and life balance, and creates a positive, rewarding culture for staff and clients, John has taken the falls and got back up, and learned many valuable business and life lessons along the way.
