Di Fleming

Di Fleming - BA. Dip Ed., M Ed St., (Monash) FACEA, FACE
Di is the President and CEO of the Africa Australia Business Council (Vic) where she is pursuing bi lateral trade through innovative developments that integrate business development, sustainability, and education within and between continents.


Di has recently returned from South Africa and Botswana after leading Victoria’s first trade mission.
Di is Director of Accelerated Knowledge Technologies Pty Ltd (AKT), a company focussing on strategic planning, creating innovative cultures, research, and the potential impact of 21st global drivers on education and business.
Di is a member of the Victorian Government’s Growth Areas Authority where she draws on her diverse expertise in large-scale development, education, and design thinking.
Di was the founding director of RMIT University’s Centre of Excellence in Digital Design 2003 – 2007 with an associate professorship in digital design and Chair of the 2006 Victorian Premier’s Design Awards and State of Design, and Chair of the Inaugural International Digital Design Biennale at the Melbourne Museum 2004.
As founding director and CEO of Digital Harbour Holdings Pty Ltd, Di and her team won the bid to develop the Commonwealth Technology Port at the Melbourne Docklands, after which Di held an associate professorship in Education at The University of Melbourne.
From 1993 - 2001 Di was Principal of Kilvington Girls’ Grammar where she was the first educator awarded the 1998 - 1999 Telstra Victorian Businesswoman of the Year Award and the National Telstra/AusIndustry Award for her leadership in digital schooling and strategic business partnerships.
Di has given more than 250 addresses in the USA, UK, China, Japan, Scandinavia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Australia where she has demonstrated her belief that the strength of all organisations lies in "finding the extra-ordinary in the ordinary" by creating a culture where people can imagine, improvise and innovate so as to build their creative capital through an innovation driven economy.
In 2007, Cisco Systems invited Di to present at the Public Service Summit@Nobel Week in Stockholm – “The Collision of the unfamiliar: the influence of global drivers in shaping real and virtual learning.”
