Gerry Gannon

Following a distinguished career as a journalist and broadcaster with ABC Radio, Gerry Gannon left to establish Australia Wise Malaysia in partnership with the Hon. Gordon Hill, in response to the perceived need for Australian enterprise to raise its profile in the South East Asian region.
Gerry Gannon now operates Gannon Media Services providing PR, marketing, compering, writing, communications training and broadcasting services to domestic and international clients. Since 1994 he has carried out work for a number of Western Australian government agencies including the Department of Commerce and Trade, the Department of Education, the WA Tourism Commission and AgWest.
Gerry Gannon maintains an interest in broadcasting through his association with Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) where he provides a weekly Q&A to “The PM Session.”
In ‘95/95 he established Indonesia's first English language radio station in Bali for a Perth/Indonesian joint venture partnership. Gerry Gannon has a special interest in tourism and is regarded as an effective marketer of tourism products and he has built up an extensive network of media contacts throughout SE Asia
Gerry Gannon has presented a series of television programmes on the Westlink network for the Department of Commerce and Trade on the theme of Sustaining Communities. He has been retained as a TV presenter for the TAFE Communications Network. Together with journalistic colleagues Roger Martin (The Australian) and John McNamara (ABC 720 Drive) he presents “WA News Week” on Access 31 Television in Perth.
Gerry Gannon is also President of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (WA), Vice Chairman of Access 31 Television and Vice President of the Australia Malaysia Business Council WA) He is a former Director of the Tourism Council of WA, a former member of the International Business Council of WA Executive Committee and a former member of the Swan Bells Foundation.
