Lindsay Gaze

Lindsay Gaze played basketball at the national level in 1957 and at the international level in 1960. He competed in three Olympics as a player, and in two World Championships. Following his success as a player, Lindsay turned to coaching. He coached the Australian Olympic Men's Basketball teams in 1972, 76, 80 and 84 and the World Championships 1974, 78 and 82.
Lindsay has been the coach of the Melbourne Tigers NBL Team since1985, with a career win-loss record of 312-287. His team has only missed the NBL Finals once in the past 15 seasons, winning two championships in that time. Lindsay became the first coach in league history to achieve the 600-game milestone in 2003 and has been voted 'Coach of the Year' three times.
Lindsay Gaze is a Life Member of Australian Basketball Coaches Association, a Life member Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria and an Associate Member and Board Member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, and is a Member of FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Technical Commission. In 1992, Lindsay was voted Victorian “Father of the Year”. Lindsay is one of the most prominent and experienced sporting coaches in Australia and is a true motivational speaker.
