We had such an amazing response from the sales team that Chumpy was presenting to. The way he was able to relate to the team and find common ground was such an advantage. Alex 'Chumpy' Pullin's Biography

Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin grew up in Mansfield, starting to ski with his family when he 3 years old. At age 8, his parents who own and run a family ski/snowboard shop in Mansfield, gave him his first chance to step onto a snowboard. From there, he quickly fell in love with it and put as much time as he could into being out riding around his local mountain.

At age 15, Chumpy competed in the open mens FIS Snowboard Australian National Championships, with his Dad Chris there as his board tech. Chumpy won the event after some tight racing, but this was the result that really allowed him to feel his potential and focus on bigger goals for the future.

At 19, in Chumpys first World Cup Boardercross in 2007, he qualified 5th for the finals, a huge result for him to launch into the top level of Boardercross. By 2010, Chumpy had become a strong racer, putting down consistent top 5 results on the World Cup tour.

The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver was where Chumpy really made himself a house hold name qualifying fastest in both runs, in front of his family and the whole world who were watching. The finals however, did not play out so well. Chumpy crashed out in the quarter finals while leading the heat in front of Olympic Gold medalist Seth Wescott. That competition may have not gone his way, but it sure lit a fire deep inside as well as opened Chumpy’s eyes to how fast he was.

Since then, Chumpy continues to chase winters and his love for snowboarding. Overseas he competes each northern winter on the World Cup tour, as well as back home in the southern winter training at Mt Hotham. With 2 World Championship titles to his name, 2 overall Crystal Globe World Cup titles and many other victories at World Cups around the world, he is not the guy you want to line up against in the starting gates.

Multiple World Titles in his sport are attributed to Chumpy's assertiveness in unlocking the secrets to his ultimate performance.

Perform under pressure - Results are just outcomes, it's the journey towards our goals where we really have the opportunity to form ourselves into the people we want to be. That journey, is never ending. Chumpy strongly believes once he realised this, it was then he unlocked not only a higher level of success, but also a more constant state of happiness. To give himself the best chance at performing his best, on days that decide the results, Chumpy works closely with a few like minded and highly driven people. Together, they create environments in his training sessions that put Chumpy under huge pressure in more than just the physical aspects, but also skill and mental.

Learn how environments such as this empty lung breath hold session seen here, build a huge amount of trust for Chumpy in his ability. And the confidence and self control it allows him to tap into when faced with other challenges in his career and personal life.

Cut to the chase - Racing 5 other riders to the bottom of the mountain at over 80km/hr and flying off jumps of over 100ft to the landing, its safe to say Boardercross is an action sport. But even though the variables of each run in this sport are forever impossible to predict, Chumpy refuses to blame 'luck' for either good or poor performances. There are many uncontrollable's in our careers and life. Using his sport as an example, Chumpy shares how to reflect on each testing moment, to be time efficient at improving our skills and awareness as rapidly as possible.  When opportunities present themselves, you are there and ready. Not only that, you will never miss a valuable lesson as a result of blaming bad luck for a poor performance.
