Testimonials for Alicia Janz

Alicia Janz, what can I say, but thank you, thank you, thank you. Your message on our stage on Friday to our boys and the staff was impressive, powerful, a little confronting but encouraging and inviting. I know you stayed up late writing and rehearsing, but from our perspective, it was worth every second. I am confident that with teacher’s encouragement there will be some conversations as a result and along with Daniel’s unplanned interview talking about being an indigenous Scotch boy, there will be some impact. Some positive impact and realisation.

Once your football career finishes you have a career in public speaking. Seriously. You come over as warm, open, welcoming. I was particularly watching the little boys on Friday how they wanted to be near you. And then there is your story and message and question. Succinctly told, you reveal yourself to the audience without overly dwelling on the bias’ both indigenous and female that you see and experience, but you are optimistic, deliver hope along with a plan. Think about it some more. Being a consultant public speaker, you’ll be great, you’re are needed. Thanks again for coming and showing some solidarity for and with our indigenous boys and for your message to us all. It’s a good day for that umbrella today. Or maybe as a walking stick if you end up in rehab again.

Head of Middle School Scotch College

Alicia Janz, thanks again for coming in and speaking to our team at RPS earlier this week. The team enjoyed your presentation and really appreciated the insight you could give. It definitely left us with a better understanding of indigenous culture and stronger appreciation of the challenges of reconciliation. Following on from that we’d like to make a donation to the Wirrpanda Foundation Deadly Sista Girlz Program, to assist in a small way with the work you do there. I wasn’t sure if this was if this was something we could do through you or if you could put us through to the appropriate person at the Wirrpanda Foundation to arrange this with.
