Andre Eikmeier's Biography

Vinomofo was launched in 2011 and is one of Australia’s fastest growing tech companies.  Vinomofo is a leader in innovation, disruption and culture.  CEO and Co-Founder Andre Eikmeier wanted to connect wine lovers from around the country, creating an online community where information can be shared.  In under four years the business grew from zero to a turnover of more than $50 million, winning dozens of awards including Australia's Fastest Growth Tech Company in 2013 from Deloitte's.

Having performed as an actor and singer on stage and screen since he was eight years old, including roles on Pacific Drive, Home and Away, A Country Practice, GP, Les Miserables, Hair and a famed Coke ad with Kylie Minogue,  Andre’s career took a turn as 30 approached.

Having been an enthusiastic partaker, Andre's induction into the wine industry came in 2001 as an out-of-work actor/singer getting a job in the Cellarmasters call centre.

Returning to his entrepreneurial roots, he started a video and web production company in 2003 called The Vision Gallery, servicing mainly the wine industry, before coming together with brother-in-law Justin to create Qwoff, Australia's first online wine community and consumer review site.

Embracing the new possibilities that content, video and social media offered, they grew the largest online 'tribe' of wine lovers, and became vital communicators for the wine industry to a growing younger audience of engaged wine consumers. But the business was not a financial success, and the two found themselves in difficult times as they struggled to stay afloat...

Launching Vinomofo in 2011, the business grew dramatically.
From two founders in a garage in Adelaide, to over 50 employees across two cities, their astonishing ride has included selling a majority stake to a large retail group, and then subsequently buying the company back.

They are true disruptors, having taken on retail giants Woolworths and Coles, in a cutthroat retail environment. They have set the benchmark for culture and employee engagement, based around the driving principals of being human.

Andre is a dynamic and entertaining speaker, having presented keynote addresses at Asia Pacific's leading business and marketing conferences. He has presented on culture, innovation and leadership for some of the country's leading companies.
