Angela Catterns's Biography

An independence of spirit and a relaxed yet intelligent attitude to life result in broadcasting ideally tuned to the demands of breakfast radio. Angela Catterns provides Sydney listeners with the most comprehensive local news and information of the day. Weather, traffic, local community information, unusual news stories and breaking news stories are all encompassed within the program, including the current affairs show AM.
Angela Catterns began her career 20 years ago at Lismore's local station 2LM, followed by several years in Orange working at CBN8 TV. Angela then decided to move back to her hometown of Sydney, where she worked as a sound recordist on a documentary shot in Papua New Guinea, followed by work on the highly popular kids' TV show, Simon Townsend's Wonder World.
In the mid–80's, Angela Catterns joined the ABC youth network, Triple J, as producer of its Morning Show, before being lured to commercial radio to present mornings on 2SM. After that came a position at SBS as a researcher and producer, then a stint overseas, fulfilling a long–held ambition to work in American radio, where she landed an on–air shift at top–rating WKYS in Washington DC.
Returning to Sydney, Angela rejoined the ABC, as presenter of Triple J's Morning Show. After 6 years in the position, she moved to the network's Drive program, before making the move to what she refers to as 'the grown up ABC' – ABC Local Radio, presenting the Evenings program across NSW. After a year working on the innovative on–line radio venture BigFatRadio.com, Angela returned to 702 and took up the challenge of Breakfasts.
Angela Catterns is one of Australia's most loved broadcasters, and has regularly been the number 1 radio announcer in Sydney for 40 - 60 year olds. Angela is now with Vega's breakfast show with Tony Squires, Rebecca Wilson and Mikey Robins.
Angela has had a diverse media career working in film, TV and radio in Sydney, country NSW towns such as Lismore and Orange, and even a little time as a radio announcer in Washington DC.
