Chrissie Swan's Biography

Chrissie Swan is one of Australia’s most loved personalities and probably one of the busiest working mums in the business. Radio & TV broadcaster, author, columnist, fashion label ambassador, Gold Logie Nominee and Silver Logie winner are just some of Chrissie’s calling cards.

For the past three years Chrissie has hosted Chrissie & Jane for Breakfast on Melbourne’s Mix 101.1. Having two women host a capital city radio show was seen as ground breaking in itself, so when they went to number one in 2014 it was indeed cause for a double celebration. At the same time The 3pm Pick-up program was syndicated nation-wide across the ARN network and quickly became the first choice for women in daytime radio.

In January 2015 Chrissie joined nine other celebrities in South Africa for Network TEN’s new primetime reality TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Chrissie survived several weeks in the jungle coming third in the show!   2013 saw Chrissie launch her own fashion range of affordable, plus-size women’s apparel, intimates and footwear.

Chrissie Swan for Avella is available exclusively at BIG W stores and on line.   Many fans have followed Chrissie from her days as the runner-up on the 2003 season of Big Brother and her various stints on radio at HOT 91 on the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne’s Vega 91.5 before she was asked to co-host TEN’s much loved morning program The Circle on Network TEN in 2010 & 2011.

Returning to Network TEN in 2012 Chrissie hosted the prime time talk show Can of Worms on Network TEN for two seasons and was nominated again for a Logie in 2013. A gifted writer who happily over-shares the amusing and sometimes challenging realities of day-to-day life for many working mums in Australia, Chrissie has been a regular columnist for Fairfax’s Sunday Life magazine, News Limited’s Weekend magazine and has written for Fairfax’s Good Weekend magazine.

Chrissie published her first book, Is It Just Me?: Confessions of an Over-Sharer, in 2013 (Black Inc). Chrissie has been an ambassador for CARE Australia since 2010.

In her personal life, Chrissie and her partner, Chris (affectionately known as The Chippie) are the proud parents to three young children – Leo, Kit and Peggy. They live in Melbourne.
