South Australian football legend Graham Cornes is now actively involved in the media as co-host with K.G. Cunningham, of Australia’s highest rating sports/drive program on Radio 5AA.
KG & Cornesy’s multi-award winning Sports Show covers the issues, the people, the news and views on Sport that matter. Typical guests on the show include Shane Warne, Kieren Perkins, Lleyton Hewitt, Mark Taylor, John Landy, Susie O’Neill, Sir Jack Brabham, Dr Ali Bacher (South African Cricket Boss), Ian Botham, Steve Waugh, Shoab Aktar and many more. Regular contributors include Crows and Power players and coaching staff, Neil Kerley & Robert Walls on Football; John Alexander on Tennis; Ian Chappell and Ian Healy on Cricket; Phil Smyth on Basketball, Sarah Sutter and Kathryn Harby on Netball — and an array of sporting stars that make the most formidable sporting team in Australia.
Graham Cornes is a columnist with South Australia’s largest newspaper the Advertiser; until 2001 he was a member of Channel 7 TV Network’s Australian Football commentary team.
Has had extensive involvement in the new car retail industry as a dealer principal of successful Mitsubishi and Toyota dealerships, and is currently a non - executive director of Cornes Toyota and Graham Cornes Used Cars, part of the publicly listed ADTRANS group.
Graham Cornes served in Vietnam with the 7th Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment in 1970, and is still active in several Veterans’ groups. He is the Chairman of the management committee of Foundation Daw Park, at the Repatriation Hospital Daw Park.
Graham Cornes also an interest in martial arts and has attained his First Dan black belt in WTF tae-kwon-do, and plays very low profile rhythm guitar with the 5AA Rock ‘n Roll Allstars.
