Despite personal tradegy and seemingly impossible odds, top Australian actress Madeleine West is fulfilling her ambitions and is living proof that regardless of the obstacles you face, by setting goals and having faith in yourself, anything is possible.


Madeleine West first came into prominence starring as ‘Dee’ in Network Ten’s long running series “Neighbours”, for which she received a Logie Award nomination for Most Popular New Female Talent.

Madeleine left home at 16 to pursue her dreams, despite significant personal obstacles. With enormous determination, she was able to put herself through school achieveing high enough marks to be accepted into Law at Melbourne University. After her performing career had taken off with her leading role in “Neighbours”, Madeleine was tragically hit by a bus which almost killed her, putting an end to the performing career for which she had worked so hard.

It’s amazing how many lifetimes can be crammed into just 24 years, but Madeleine experienced more in that period than many could imagine. Despite personal tragedy and seemingly impossible odds, Madeleine has more than made a comeback in fulfilling her ambitions.

Madeleine has since gone on to appear in “City Homicide”, “Stingers”, “Last Man Standing”, “Canal Road”, “Rescue Special Ops”, “The Starter Wife” with Debra Messing and the telemovies “Hercules” and “Big Reef”.

Most recently, Madeleine has appeared in Channel Seven’s “Winners & Losers” and series two of ABC’s “Lowdown”. Her performance in the Nine Network’s critically acclaimed Underbelly series earned her an AFI Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama. In 2009, Madeleine was nominated for an ASTRA Award for Most Outstanding Performance by a female and a Silver Logie Award for Most Outstanding Actress for her role in Showtime’s “Satisfaction”.

Additionally, Madeleine’s feature film credits include Lionsgate thriller “The Condemned”, the Australian comedy “You and Your Stupid Mate”, Nadia Tass’ drama “Matching Jack” and in 20012 she played alongside Stephen Curry and Brendan Cowell in Boyd Hicklin’s feature “Save Your Legs”.

Madeleine is living proof that regardless of the obstacles you face, by setting goals and having faith in yourself, anything is possible.
