Marlee Ranacher's Biography

Marlee Ranacher was raised on the remote top end cattle station of Bullo River Station, in Australia’s Northern Territory. She later acquired the property in March of 2001 in conjunction with husband Franz Ranacher from Sara Henderson, Marlee’s mother and acclaimed author. The Ranachers’ immediate aim was to turn Bullo River into a unique remote ecotourism destination.

The property is marginal as a cattle station, so Marlee Ranacher and husband Franz have exploited their entrepreneurial initiative decided to develop the property’s tourism potential.
Marlee’s recently released book “Bullo – the Next Generation” gives insight into her entrepreneurial spirit, her business wisdom and her appreciation of the beauty of nature. It is clear that the Ranacher success at Bullo River Station stemmed from deliberate decisions made not by struggling rural station owners, but by a couple of wise business people who understand the beauty of nature and the complexity of life in remote rural Australia.
Marlee Ranacher speaks on her role as one of Australia’s new breed of businesswomen, operating successfully in the harsh remote conditions of Australia’s outback that most of us could never contemplate.
