Matthew White's Biography

Matthew White (born Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian former professional road racing cyclist and current Directeur Sportif for Team Slipstream.
Matt started racing competitively at age fourteen. Turning professional in 1996 at age 22 with the Giant-Australian Institute of Sport team under the GIANT-A.I.S. Sports Director and Australian National Coach, German born Heiko Salzwedel.
From 2001 - 2003 he raced for US Postal service and rode the Vuelta a Espana. In 2004 he moved to Cofidis where he was selected in 2004 and 2005 to ride the Tour de France.
In 2005 he won Stage 4 of the Tour Down Under.
Matt divides his time between Spain and Australia, where he has become a most welcome guest at our Jindabyne Training Camp.
