Norma Plummer's Biography

Norma Plummer is the Australian Netball Coach and one of Australia’s most respected coaches.


As a player she first represented Victoria in open competition in 1967 and as playing coach and captain, led Victoria to back-to-back national championships in 1977 and 1978. She was selected in the Australian squad in 1972 and the highlights, in a distinguished playing career, included membership of the winning world series team in 1975, selection as Australian captain for the 1977 tour by Australia of Trinidad and Tobago and the 1978 Australian tour of England.
Norma Plummer was appointed Australian 21 and Under coach in 1995 and coached the team to the 1996 and 2000 World Youth Cup. She has also coached the Australian All Stars and the Australian ‘B’ team. She coached Melbourne Phoenix to the title in the final Superleague series in 1996 and then to win the first ever National League championship in 1997.
Appointed Australian Netball Team National Coach in 2003, and with limited preparation, Norma took the Australian Team to runners-up in the Netball World Championships. In 2007, this time with a full preparation, Norma took Australia back again to play their archrivals New Zealand, but this time winning the World Championships.
Norma Plummer has combined her elite sporting career with a family and as a highly successful career in Sales and Marketing making her a dynamic sales and marketing speaker, motivational and business speaker.

Vic Open team 1983-1987
Coach Melbourne Netball Club from 1967 - 83 winning 25 Major State Grand Finals. Appointed PLAYING COACH of the Victorian State Team in 1977-78 and Winning the National Championships both years’ back-to-back titles.
Coached Victorian again in 85-86 winning National Championships outright in 1986.
In 1989 - 1990-91-92 Runner-up in national championships.
1987 Winning National Superleague.
1990 Winning National Superleague.
1996 Winning National Superleague.
1997 Winning the New Commonwealth Bank Trophy.
