Robert Gottliebsen's Biography
Robert Gottliebsen has been writing and commentating about investment and business events for almost half a century.
Robert is one of Australia's most respected investment experts and has been a key commentator on Australian business and finance for over three decades. Robert co-founded Eureka Report in 2005 and was also a founding member of Business Spectator, a business news and commentary site. Robert was the founding editor of Business Review Weekly in 1981 and spearheaded the magazine for the next 19 years. He was the original Chanticleer in The Australian Financial Review and after this, between 2000 and 2005 he was National Business Commentator for The Australian.
In 2007, with strong financial backing, Alan Kohler, Robert Gottliebsen and Stephen Bartholomeusz left their print jobs to start businessspectator.com.au. The venture has been an enormous success and now boasts an electronic business audience that rivals the Australian Financial Review in print. Its associate publication The Eureka Report is one of Australia’s largest electronic newsletters to self managed funds and private investors. Robert writes regularly for both electronic publications. His writings on business and investment trends have one of the highest audiences in the country.
Robert Gottliebsen founded the flagship publication Business Review Weekly in 1981, and under his reign it reached the highest per capita readership of any business magazine in the world.
In 1999 he became host of the Business Daily TV show on Sky News. In 2000 he moved his Business Daily TV studio to The Australian Newspaper where he was appointed National Business Commentator. Robert is a shareholder and investment journalist for the Eureka Report. Robert was the founding editor of Business Review Weekly and spearheaded the magazine for 20 years.
Robert is a Governor of the Ian Clunies Ross Foundation; Immediate past Chairman and a current director of Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School and Treasurer of the Essendon Presbyterian Church.
