Scott Martin's Biography

Originally hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Scott Martin is one of the youngest and finest performers in Sydney today, currently performing regularly around Australia with various bands and also as a solo performer. Scott brings his unique style and sophistication to those familiar cabaret songs from stage and screen.
Scott Martin began his jazz performance career in 1998 at the tender age of sixteen, where he was invited to join a local Brisbane Big Band. Soon after much success and rave reviews from local press, Scott was invited to become the lead vocalist for the popular Australian 'Glenn Miller Tribute Band' in 1999. This began Scott's association with the band and the Brisbane Jazz Club. Scott performs with this band still to this day and is an active performer at the club. His Big Band performances have included guest appearances with 'Cloudland', 'The Brass Hats', 'Decahedron' and many more.
One highlight of Scott's career was his performance with world renowned conductor and virtuoso pianist, Maestro Tommy Tycho in the Energex Brisbane Festival 2000 performances of "What a classic, and all that jazz!". Scott sang the finale of the show with the Maestro and popular clarinet soloist, Andrew Firth.
But Scott Martin's musical beginnings stretched back much further than his interest in jazz and moonlighting at local nightclubs. His musical gifts were discovered right from the beginning of Primary School, where he excelled in all things musical. School choir became part of his extra-curricular activities. Upon recommendation from his music teacher at the time, Scott Martin auditioned and was successful in obtaining a place with the Queensland Youth Choir. This is where Scott's talents began to foster. Scott went on to complete the entire programme offered by the choir, moving from the Children's Chorus at the age of eleven, right up to the premier show choir 'Voiceworks'. He finished up with them in 2001 on a high note after taking out the organisations' 'President's Trophy' two years consecutive.
Scott Martin has been privileged to perform with industry greats, such as Michael Crawford, Simon Gallagher, Vanessa Amorossi, Debelah Morgan, David Campbell, and many more, and also with groups such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, Queensland Youth Orchestra, Brisbane Regional Youth Orchestra, and many others.
Scott Martin's warm, clear baritone voice is extremely versatile and can lend itself towards Jazz, Pop, Classical or Contemporary, depending on the occasion.
