Titus O'Reily's Biography

The most popular satirist on sport and AFL in this country, Titus O’Reily’s regular ’Knee Jerk Reaction’ and ‘Highly Unhelpful’ columns with his unique take on sport have garnered him a rapidly growing 300,000 social media followers, and have had Titus hailed by some of the most respected figures in sport as ‘awful’, ‘childish’ and ‘barely comprehensible’.

Known as ‘the voice of Australia’s working class’ despite the fact he long lost touch with them and in the main, reality, Titus’ lightning quick, clever and hilarious insights on sport and AFL have in addition to his loyal social media following earned him regular appearances on TV and radio. From debating the validity of red cards in AFL in front of political dignitaries, Bill Shorten and Julie Bishop, to appearances on Channel Seven’s AFL coverage, Network Ten’s The Project, and NOVA FM’s No 1 rating FM breakfast show with Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Brisbane legend Jonathan Brown, Titus has experienced a rapid rise to success since his beginnings in 2015. TItus has also appeared on ABC News breakfast and is a weekly guest on Jules Schiller’s weekly ABC Radio Drive show.

In 2017 Titus toured his first live comedy show – a recap on the previous year’s AFL Season and foresight into the grand finals. With shows being performed during the AFL Bye Round (the break before the Grand Finals), this tour was so successful that this ‘Bye Round Tour’ is now an annual occurrence, with the 2018 Bye Round Tour encompassing six cities.

As well as his own national comedy tours, Titus has performed at the AFL Commission’s Grand Final Luncheon in front of Prime Minister Scott Morrison and a host of political, sporting and media heavyweights, the North Melbourne Grand Final Breakfast, functions for AFL clubs Sydney, Port Adelaide, Fremantle and St Kilda and many other corporate events.

He has also appeared on Channel Seven’s AFL coverage, the Front Bar, ABC Grandstand and Fox Sports, and his first book, ‘A Thoroughly Unhelpful History of Australian Sport’ released by Penguin Random House in November 2017, it has since gone to a second print and is being re-released as a special Father’s Day edition in September 2018.  His second book, ‘A Sporting Chance:’ ‘Australian Sporting Scandals’ and the ‘Path to Redemption’, was released in October 2018.
