Victoria Carthew's Biography

A respected journalist, presenter and broadcaster, Victoria Carthew is affectionately known to her friends and family as the ‘Cruise Director’ because of her ability to organise events and be the ultimate host, so she fits right in, on the road with Queensland Weekender.

Victoria has worked at the Seven Network for more than two decades; as an expert sports commentator across a variety of sports.  She was the AFL’s first female boundary rider and is passionate about supporting and increasing participation in sports.

Currently a presenter with the Seven Network’s popular travel and lifestyle program, ‘Queensland Weekender’, Victoria is also a regular guest on both Radio 4BC and ABC 612. As the host of Broncos TV, she is a familiar face at Brisbane Broncos rugby league games and is the team’s preferred emcee for awards and events. (Victoria emceed the farewell event for popular player Darren Lockyer at Suncorp Stadium…to an audience of almost 51,000!)

In recent times, she has hosted events for the Queensland Firebirds, Surf Lifesaving Queensland, small business and tourism breakfasts, and facilitated sports forums for the State government. She is also a director for Stadiums Queensland and is on the Advisory Council for the Sporting Wheelies Association.  And when she’s not doing all of that or out on the road with Queensland Weekender, you can usually find Victoria at Brisbane Broncos rugby league games where she hosts Broncos TV.
