Adam Simpson's Biography
2018 AFL Premiership coach Adam Simpson is West Coast's sixth coach and joins the club having come from successful environments as a player and an assistant coach. His 306 games with North Melbourne yielded two premierships. He was also a best and fairest, an All Australian and captain for five seasons.
After a four-year assistant coaching apprenticeship with Hawthorn under Alastair Clarkson, Simpson joined the Eagles ahead of the 2014 AFL season.
After narrowly missing the finals in his first season at the helm, Simpson has guided the Eagles to the finals in 2015, 2016, 2017 and in 2018 successfully winning the premiership
A former champion midfielder at North Melbourne, Simpson made his senior debut against West Coast at Princes Park in round 18, 1995, played 306 games for North Melbourne before retiring midway through the 2009 season.
He spent five years as club captain, was a premiership player in 1996 and 1999, won the club’s fairest and best award in 2002 and was an All-Australian player in the same year, Adam Simpson can rightly claim to be one of the Kangaroos’ finest over the past two decades.
West Coast Eagles appointed Simpson coach for the 2014 season. He replaced John Worsfold who stood down after a disappointing season in 2013.
