Anthony Burke's Biography

Anthony Burke is one of Australia's leading architectural and design experts with over two decades in the industry and accolades from around the globe.

Currently, Anthony is a Professor of Architecture and Course Director for the Master of Architecture in the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building at the University of Technology Sydney.

Notably, Anthony is the new host of ABC's Grand Designs Australia and Grand Designs Transformations, after its move from Foxtel, the latter airing from early 2024.

He recently led another series of 'Restoration Australia' to public acclaim. With a cult following for the Grand Designs fanchise, these productions have been Anthony's largest endeavour yet and we are so excited to see it come to life. It is fair to say Anthony's star is well and truly on the rise.

Furthermore, Anthony is a gifted MC and judge, having presented at events such as TEDxSydney and serving as co-creative director of the Australian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Anthony has led international architectural tours, sharing his extensive knowledge and passion for design in various countries. With a wealth of experience from live events, public speaking to television series, Anthony has well and truly proved himself as one to watch in the Australian design space.

His ability to inform, entertain and inspire, about all things architecture and design, have unsurprisingly transferred into Anthony’s television career.
