From State-of-Origin dressing rooms… to the Long Room at Lords… and the famous baths of Twickenham with the Wallabies -- the Seven Network's award-winning sports reporter, commentator and presenter Ben Davis, has travelled the globe covering sporting events. He now presents the sports bulletin for 7news in Brisbane and is a regular on Weekend Sunrise.
His journey in sports coverage begun at the Ten Network as a part-time cadet while completing a degree in Communication (Journalism) at the Queensland University of Technology. After finishing his studies late in 1995 at the age of 21, an opportunity presented itself with 7news.
Ben Davis has reported some of Queensland's biggest sporting moments over the past decade including the Brisbane Broncos Grand Final Wins, The Cowboys Grand Final appearance, the Brisbane Strikers historic NSL Grand final campaign, John Eales' last Wallaby tour of Europe, the Kangaroos 2000 World Cup triumph in Manchester, Allan Langer's unforgettable State-of-Origin comeback and the last Ashes Tour of England.
In 1997 and again in 1999, Ben won Best Television Report in the National Soccer League's national Media Awards for his reports on the Brisbane Strikers.
For two years he was also a regular on Seven's locally produced sports show, Sportscene, providing sports updates and later featuring in rugby league segments along side Queensland league legend Trevor Gillmeister.
More recently he’s been seen in a national capacity as a Sports Presenter on both Sunrise and Weekend Sunrise.
