Cameron Ling's Biography

Cameron Ling’s AFL football career included 246 games for the Geelong Cats, beginning in 2000 and culminating in his final game as captain of the premiership winning Cats in 2011. “Lingy” was known as a respected, hard-working team member who’s leadership helped shape Geelong’s 2007, 2009 and 2011 Premiership winning teams.

His personal accolades during this time include Geelong club Best and Fairest, All Australian and, upon retirement, received the Madden Medal for contributions both on and off the field to football and the community.

Since his playing days finished he has been part of the Channel 7, 3AW and ABC Grandstand commentary teams in an expert commentary role for the past 11 years and has held various Leadership Consultant roles at AFL clubs.

Cameron has been a business owner and continues to work with long standing partners in both commercial and charitable relationships. He is currently working for his old school St Joseph’s College and their Foundation aiming to raise money for the school’s Bursary program that assists families unable to afford an education at the school.

His number 1 passion these days is as a husband, and father to 3 young boys; Max, Henry and Ged.
