Australian Queen of Renovating, Cherie Barber educates and inspires to enable everyday Australians to make prudent property investment decisions for their renovation projects. Cherie has been renovating since 1991 and now shares her wealth of knowledge and business-like approach to teach others.  

Cherie Barber is a self-made multi-millionaire, full-time professional renovator, regular TV renovator and highly sought-after Australian public speaker. Born in an average working class family, Cherie grew up in Sydney’s western suburbs and was removed from school at the of Year 10 to help her family make ends meet financially.

Cherie’s love of renovating stems from her childhood, where as a young child, she would spend hours sitting next to her dad on his earthmoving tractor. In 1991, aged 22, Cherie bought her first low budget, unrenovated property and cosmetically flipped it for a profit. During her twenties, she bought project number 2, a structural renovation which she completed whilst residing in the property and working full-time in marketing.

In 2002, Cherie quit her full-time job after completing her first professional renovation which saw her earn more money on the weekends renovating than her full-time employment.

In the first year of her professional renovating career, Cherie bought and renovated 6 houses with a combined value of $6.3 million. She did this with no stable income, no job and little money behind her. With 21+ years renovating experience and over a decade as a full-time professional renovator, Cherie has personally renovated over 50 properties and been involved in countless property deals, well in excess of $50 million.

Cherie’s success is attributed to a disciplined, business-like approach to her property projects, complimented by a step-by-step system she personally created. She has extensive knowledge on property investment, renovation and development and is skilled at adding maximum value for the least possible cost. She has broken sales records in her area and is skilled at creating the “wow factor” that gets owner-occupiers emotionally attached to a property, prior to purchase.

Cherie’s expertise, knowledge and skills make her one of the favoured contributors for anything related to renovation in the Australian media. In light of her vast experience, she was dubbed “Australia’s Renovation Queen” by the Australian media. To this day, on national TV, Cherie continues to put her skills and knowledge to the test, under the scrutiny of nationwide audiences.

Cherie is also a national brand ambassador for Asbestos Awareness and is passionate about educating home renovators accross Australia how to renovate safely.
