Environmentalist, botanist, ecologist, author and broadcaster, Professor David Bellamy is one of the most widely recognised and respected naturalists in the world. The Special Professor of Botany at the University of Nottingham, David is a Founder Director of the Conservation Foundation. He is also President and Patron of numerous organisations connected with wildlife and the environment.David is probably best known for his television programmes on botany, ecology and the natural world which reflect his special interest in bio-diversity and ecologically-sound civil and business practices. He encourages people to take an interest in their environment and to become actively involved in local environmental issues.
David Bellamy is President of Population Concern, Y.H.A, Plantlife, WATCH, N.A.E.E., Wildlife Trusts Partnership, Trustee of the Living Landscape Trust, Hon Fellow Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management.
David Bellamy is an International Consultant, author of 43 books, writer and presenter of some 400 television programmes on Botany, Ecology and Environment. David Bellamy is also recipient of The Order of the British Empire; The Dutch Order of the Golden Ark; The U.N.E.P Global 500 Award; The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award for Underwater Research; B.A.F.T.A; B.S.A.C Diver of the Year; Richard Dimbleby Award; Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management.
