Denise Scott's Biography
Denise Scott – Award Winning Comedian | National Treasure
Denise Scott is a national treasure who happens to be hilarious.
She’s graced some of Australia’s most beloved TV series – Mother and Son, Please Like Me, Jack Irish, Winners and Losers, and House Husbands – bringing her unmistakable warmth and perfect comic timing to every role.
But it’s on stage where Denise truly shines. She’s a comedic powerhouse who’s collected serious hardware: a Helpmann Award and the Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Director’s Choice Award for her solo show Regrets, plus the Festival’s Most Outstanding Show award for Mother Bare. She’s also toured extensively with Judith Lucy, their sold-out partnership and award wins proving two legends are better than one.
After navigating a cancer diagnosis over the past three years, Denise is back doing what she does best – making a triumphant return to solo stand-up with her trademark honesty, resilience, and ability to find laughter in the most unexpected places.
You’ll also find Denise as a go-to guest on panel shows like Spicks and Specks, The Project, The Hundred and Have You Been Paying Attention? She voices the Tortoise on the kids’ hit Do Not Watch This Show and narrates Nine Network’s Travel Guides, because apparently one career isn’t enough!
Smart, genuine, and effortlessly funny, Denise Scott is the real deal.
