Jade North's Biography
Jade North has accomplished a considerable amount during his career and is one of Australia's most decorated football players. He was the first Indigenous captain of the Socceroos and most recently the recipient of the NAIDOC Sportsman of the Year in 2016. Jade is a two-time Olympian and winner of two A-League Championships.
Jade is a highly experienced footballer, having played for ten different clubs across five different countries. Jade is a proud Indigenous Australian and has represented his country playing for the Socceroos in 41 matches.
Jade has a long list of achievements behind him, including playing for the A-League All Stars, Japanese Cup Winner, OFC Nations Cup Winner for Australia, 2 x National Soccer League Champion and Runner-Up in the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Outside of football, Jade has launched an Indigenous football program called “Kickin with a Cuz,” that focuses on reaching out to young boys and girls through football, to inspire them to make better life choices.
Jade is passionate about helping disadvantaged groups and advocating for better education and management of mental health. He speaks passionately about leadership, instilling inspiration, and mental health awareness.
As a Senior Leader, Jade’s sporting career has spanned over the years and his commitment, dedication and hard work have carried over through his transition to a businessman. Since leaving the sporting arena, Jade has applied his expertise in leadership within the Property Services Industry. He then joined the Bridgeman team as an owner in 2021 and he is fully engaged in company goals and objectives.
A heavily decorated former Socceroo and Olympian, he is dedicated to making a positive change in Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander People’s lives. Jade is passionate about Indigenous issues. Closing the gap on intergenerational welfare, providing support and creating career pathways and leading Indigenous people to success are a priority.

As a speaker Jade talks about his 20 year professional career, including the highs and lows of being an Australian athlete, how he’s played for Australia as the first Indigenous Captain for the Socceroos, and twice at the Olympics.
