Janine Allis's Biography

Janine Allis, founder of Boost Juice Bars, a Director of Retail Zoo and mentor on Channel Ten’s Shark Tank, is a successful businesswomen and entrepreneur.  Sharing her knowledge, passion and expertise, Janine is both engaging and inspirational.

Boost Juice bars is one of the largest juice bars in the world with over 500 stores in 14 countries. Janine’s vision was to “do retailing differently”, delivering a unique customer experience based on the “love life” philosophy and along the way getting more fruit and vegetables in people’s diet, which we are achieving, with over 2 million smoothies or juices sold every month.

Janine feels honoured to have received numerous retail, franchise and business awards including Telstra Business Women of the Year, Amex Retailer of the Year, Awarded Exporter of the Year and BRW named one of fifteen people to have helped change the way Australia does business over the last 35 years.

Over the years she has expanded the Australian business incorporating other brands under the retail entity Retail Zoo this includes: Salsas Fresh Mex Grill, CIBO Espresso, the Italian espresso bar franchise that has wowed Adelaide for 17 years, the very cool Betty’s Burgers & CONCRETE CO. Retail Zoo has over 600 stores and almost 7000 people working across the four businesses for which she is now a Director.

Janine is a working mother of four, best selling author of “The Accidental Entrepreneur”, a Shark on Channel TEN’s Shark Tank, a champion contestant on Australian Survivor Season 4 and co-host of the 5 star rated podcast “Superwomen we ain’t”.

Her life is hectic so she understands firsthand the demands the world can put on an individual! She’s an advocate for a healthy lifestyle – maintains a daily yoga practice, she’s a very average surfer, horse rider and tennis player… but love doing all of it…

Janine's leadership style is natural, warm, giving and extremely demanding, which has created a high performance culture in her business, achieving amazing results.

The Janine Allis Boost Juice Success Story - Taking Boost Juice from an idea to an international Australian iconic brand with four kids in tow has not been an easy path. Along that journey there have been successes, failures, huge highs and equally huge lows, but the most important things are the mistakes made and lessons learnt along the way.

During her keynote presentations she talks about the journey of Boost Juice and Retail Zoo including the top ten lessons that she has learnt that have made her the success she is today. Her presentations include topics such as: always being the student, adapting to customer’s needs to survive and taking accountability for everything we do. Recently added are her insights into what it was like to be dropped on a desert island for 50 days on her recent adventure with Channel Ten’s Australian Survivor, an experience that has been life changing for her.
