Marija Zivic's Biography

Marija Zivic is an experienced and well respected journalist, broadcaster and Master of Ceremonies with a career spanning more than a decade.

She has worked for both public and private television networks at national and state level to cover major news events including four leadership spills in Canberra, the Australia tour of the US Vice President Mike Pence and the Lindt Café Siege.

This has included live crosses and packages for major Australian television shows like Sunrise, Seven News, The Morning Show, The Daily Edition, SBS News and Small Business Secrets.

Before moving back to her home state of South Australia, Marija was a senior political reporter in Canberra for five years. This included being a regular contributor on the ABC’s popular political program Insiders as well as various ABC radio programs. She has also contributed to international news broadcasts including on the BBC, CNN and New Zealand’s TV3. Her experience has resulted in a long list of lasting professional connections within the media, political circles and the corporate sector.

Marija is a polished presenter with an innate ability to digest information quickly. She has also demonstrated on numerous occasions that she is able to remain flexible during presentations or broadcasts when that information changes. She realises the importance of researching a company or group before being tasked with the privilege of hosting their event and is meticulous with her attention to detail when doing so. This has often resulted in clients re-booking Marija for the next event because of her natural and professional approach.

Marija was born in Serbia and her parents migrated to Australia when she was just six months old. She speaks fluent Serbian and Italian, after completing part of her university degree in Milan.

More recently, she has enjoyed her hardest role yet – becoming a mum.
