Testimonials for Mick Colliss
We were very happy with Mick I have received a lot of good feedback and there was a lot of laughter in the audience. Just to let you know I have a lot of very positive feedback about your talk yesterday from many people present. This has also included emails and phone calls which is unusual. A common theme was a nice entertaining, interesting happy story without a lot of swearing. It should lead to a few more gigs for sure. Well done mate.
Only the second 10 out of 10 performance I've seen in 25 years!!
Excellent, very funny and engaging.
The tension of the unknown guest speaker was broken brilliantly by Mick with a well delivered story that captivated the audience and had them in stitches. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from all that attended. His presentation set the atmosphere of evening up to be a thoroughly enjoyable night

Mick Colliss's Biography
As a young kid growing up, his dream was to play for Australia. But he quickly discovered desire is no substitute for ability. Then finally, at the age of 42, after successive failures at cricket, rugby league, rugby union, surf lifesaving and lawn bowls, he discovers the game of Sudoku.
But it doesn’t stop him picking himself and three mates from rugby in the first ever Australian Sudoku team. Mick was the vice-captain of the Australian Sudoku team and travelled to India to compete at the World Sudoku Championships.
Mick is also known as "The Poem Guy". His poetry has been recited on 2UE, 6PR, ABC, Channel 10 and Channel 7 and published in The Sydney Morning Herald, The West Australian, The Sunday Times, Rugby League Week and Rugby News. He was awarded 'Best Sports Poem in 2002' by SMH columnist and best-selling author, Peter FitzSimons.
Mick has performed at numerous functions including the Carlton-Mid Derby Lunch; the West Coast Eagles ten year premiership anniversary; lunches and dinners before rugby test matches in Perth and Sydney; the Sandover Medal award ceremony and at the dinner to decide WA's Greatest Ever Sports Star.
Originally from Sydney, Mick moved to Perth in 1988 to study and play rugby at the University of Western Australia. A keen sports fan, Mick competed in surf lifesaving ironman events and represented Western Australia in rugby union. He also vice-captained Australia at the World Sudoku Championships in 2008. A rugby commentator on Perth radio 6PR in his spare time, Mick is married with two young boys and by day is a Director of Cooch Creative, a regional advertising and marketing consultancy based in Wembley.
Mick’s is a laugh out loud true story about mateship, having a go and never giving up, no matter what the odds. It's ideal for corporate, sports and school functions.
