Tegan Higginbotham's Biography
Tegan Higginbotham is a regular at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Full of life, Tegan is not only a comedian but is a writer and actor. Tegan has performed alongside popular comedians Wil Anderson, Mick Molloy and many others. She has also starred in sit coms such as City Homicide and Thank God You’re Here!Being a veteran participant of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Tegan has performed at every festival since reaching the National Finals of Class Clowns in 2005.
Her first solo festival show, Million Dollar Tegan, was a personal investigation of the traditional gentleman’s sport of boxing, where Tegan got hit in the head A LOT. While 2013’s show, Touched By Fev, looked at the question of whether sporting heroes should be role models as well. Both shows earned Tegan 4.5 star reviews. In 2014 Tegan finished off her sporting themed trilogy with her show Game Changer.
Tegan has performed as part of sketch comedy group The Hounds, as well as alongside comedian Adam McKenzie in the surreal comedy duo, Watson. Through her ensemble and solo shows, Tegan has garnered popular awards, a Best Newcomer nomination, and a Golden Gibbo nomination for exciting and different comedy.
Tegan has become a regular part of the stand-up scene and has performed alongside the best in comedy including Wil Anderson, Dave Hughes, Justin Hamilton and Mick Molloy. Tegan’s TV acting credits include Thank God You’re Here, Twenty Something, City Homicide and This is Littleton which aired in early 2014 on ABC2.
