Ben has since held the positions of The West Australian's news editor, chief of staff, state political editor and group business editor. In his current role as Chief Reporter he is focusing on crime reporting but will often write about finance and politics.
Since 2020 his nightly online news bulletin “Up Late With Ben Harvey” takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the issues of the day. Featuring off-beat and bold commentary on news, politics and current events, Up Late showcases Ben Harvey’s irreverent and shrewd take on Perth issues.
