“Love him and that was the best Welcome to Country I have experienced!”
(Awards Night attendee)
We were absolutely delighted to have Dane Simpson MC the launch of SMS4dads at Melbourne Zoo. Dane was a true professional. He held our event together with warmth and humour in a relaxed yet professional style. Dane was spot on with formal introductions of dignitaries and speakers and cleverly added context between each presentation. Dane kept our event flowing, lifted the energy in the room and skilfully invited audience interaction and engagement. With a very tight program, we managed to finish on time and the room was left buzzing. The event was a fabulous success – thank you Dane for adding your magic!
Louie Hahn, Manager Media & Communications - SMS4dads, University of Newcastle

Dane Simpson's Biography
Dane Simpson is undisputed Comedy King of Wagga.
Dane Simpson burst onto the scene in 2015 as a national finalist on Deadly Funny and from there it has been a fast-rising trajectory for this comedian in hot demand. A whirlwind of corporate gigs, tours and festival runs were to follow, both as a solo artist and as part of Aborigi-LOL.
This year Dane toured his hit show Didgerydoozy at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and debuted his new show Always Was Always Will Be Funny at the MICF. Dane recently appeared with his dad Bow competing on Network Ten’s The Amazing Race – Celebrity Edition as well as Thank God You Are Here. He produces the monthly Riverina Comedy Club and is a programmer/producer of the Wagga Comedy Festival, as well as being a regular guest on ABC radio with Anna Moulder and Richard Glover’s TGIF show.
2022 saw the creation of Didgerydoozy. The critically acclaimed, gut-busting show where Dane introduces us to his master, comedic digeridoo playing skills. The show first appeared at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, then went on to tour around Australia before embarking on the world stage, performing in India and currently at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The year ended with a bang for this gifted comedian, with Dane performing Didgerydoozy for a 1hr stand-up comedy special on Paramount +.
During lockdown, Dane became the host of the hit series, Servo Bingo. The quirky, live and interactive show quickly amassed a cult following of devotees. The premise was to call out the cars and characters that would roll into the local service station opposite Thirsty Crow brewery in Wagga. Yes, it was every bit as silly, fun and entertaining as it sounds!
Dane’s stratospheric rise has continued with him bagging guest spots on Just for Laughs, Would I Lie To You?, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Wil Anderson's Question Everything, Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow 2022 & 2023, Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala 2021, Get Krackin, The Hundred with Andy Lee, SBS's Letters & Numbers or showing off cooking skills (or lack thereof) on The Cook-up with Adam Liaw.
Dane is also an accomplished actor with roles in The Emu War (2023) Residence ( 2024 release), The Merger (2018) and Get Krackin ( 2019).
