Lesley Hancock is the fearless leader and major conceptualist behind Leave it to Diva.
She has been the leading lady in every major musical in the last decade including: Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis, Chicago, Sweet Charity, Funny Girl, Grease and Sweeney Todd, all of which she has rewritten, restaged and given herself the starring role. No wonder then that she has been one of the most creative forces on the Corporate Entertainers scene in Australia over the last ten years both in Australia and internationally.
Her diverse musical and comedic talent is the force behind Leave it to Diva Productions.
With an extraordinary talent for tailoring and impeccable comic timing teamed with some of the biggest stars in the business, Leave it to Diva is in a class of its own.
Over the years she has rescripted and translated libretto with Opera Australia, conceptualized and performed for The Australia Day Council, performed regularly on the Comedy Channel and written parodies for Maria Venuti!
The last few years have found her in Hong Kong staging major events for Camp Quality, The Hong Kong Cancer Fund and other major charities as well as countless private parties for expats!
Her incredible and always humorous portrayals of famous people (Rose Hancock, Princess Diana, Ab Fab’s Patsy,and her ever popular Kath from Fountain Lakes) never fail to leave a mark on her clients. She can often be found in her “off Broadway” venue Yipiyiyo, trialing new material on unsuspecting and adoring patrons.
