Mike Brady's Biography
Mike Brady has enjoyed a long career as a Musician, Composer, Entertainer and Broadcaster. He is well known for the Aussie football anthems Up There Cazaly and One Day in September but there is a lot more to Mike than sporting anthems.
As a speaker and performer, Mike takes the audience on a musical journey, weaving his music into his life stories, from his days as a young immigrant kid, through the exciting teen years as a member of MPD Ltd and his time in Vietnam. He talks of his rise in economic circumstances as a music writer and then to the reasons he felt the need to leave it all behind for a career in business and entrepreneurialism.
Mike talks of his foray into many commercial ventures with varying degrees of success and some mighty failures. How he turned a multi million fortune into a negative balance – and slowly back again.
His story addresses the highs and lows of an extraordinary career. In his own words “To survive and grow in a market that is dominated by imports and is very small by world comparison carries a message for all, no matter what profession or business you are in”. Mike tells about lessons learnt, putting emphasis on benefits of staying close to what one knows. “Self belief, sheer determination and sharp focus will always deliver results”. All of Mike’s solo presentations combine humour and music in an entertaining way to illustrate what has been a lifetime jam-packed with highs and lows, hits, but very little down time.
Mike is also often invited to open events by performing the National Anthem. He has also had the pleasure of singing his famous football anthems Up there Cazaly and One Day in September at the last 3 AFL Grand Finals on the oval at the MCG which is televised worldwide.
Mike has composed many sporting and inspirational anthems for the various sporting events which he is called upon to perform including “That Tuesday in November” which was written for the Victorian Racing Industry about the Melbourne Cup. Also he wrote “Courage In Their Eyes”, which was used to launch Channel Seven’s media broadcast for the Olympic Games and “Rise To The Moment”, which was used for the Paralympic Official Team Song for the 2000 and 2004 Games. He is still performing these anthems upon request today.
In June 2013 Mike was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to the community and to music as a composer and performer. And on Monday 3rd July 2017 Mike was honored to be name d Victorian of the Year in a ceremony in Melbourne.
Mike Brady is also a fantastic MC! He offers such versatility for a range of events and brings with him professionalism and a unique and entertaining story.
