Nikki Britton's Biography
Nikki Britton started out as an actor and exploded onto the comedy scene in 2011 with her warm, lighting paced style that has seen her appear on ABC’s Comedy Up Late and on The Comedy Channel as part of the Just For Laughs Festival.
She has performed for the last 5 years with The Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, and recently returned from India where she was a part of the Bengaluru Comedy Festival for the first time. She has also performed internationally at LA’s Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv and The Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Nikki studied Clown and Bouffon in Paris with theatre master Philippe Gaulier and graduated from Actors Centre Australia in 2007. As a choreographer and physical performer, Nikki has worked and performed at Disneyland in L.A, and with Meryl Tankard on her dance theatre work VX18504.
As well as pursuing acting and comedy, Nikki has a long history in Children’s Entertainment and has been Captain Starlight with the Starlight Children’s Foundation for the last 6 years. She also had a brief stint as Dorothy the Dinosaur, however it is a chapter both Nikki and the gentlemen in the turtlenecks would rather forget…..
Her most recent solo hour, Romanticide, was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2017 Perth FringeWorld Festival and as a playwright, she was nominated for a GLUG for her work on Hidden Sydney. Her podcast The Other Half will be released in 2018 in partnership with ABC.
As an actor, Nikki appears in the Screen Australia webseries Sheila’s, and plays the lead role in short film Table for one, both due for release in 2018. She features in Matt Okine’s The Other Guy and toured the one woman Irish play 51 Shades of Maggie Muff around Australia for 2 years to sold out crowds and critical acclaim.
