Penelope Twemlow's Biography
Penelope Twemlow is a true leader of people and operations, she is passionate about and actively supports various agencies working in the equity and diversity, domestic violence, mental health and homelessness arenas. For her work in these areas as well as her success in her CEO roles, Penelope was awarded the 2016 Queensland Telstra Business Women’s Award for Social Enterprise and Not-For-Profit.
As a Chief Executive Officer, company founder, Chairwoman, and multiple Board Member, Penelope Twemlow is an in-demand presenter with more than 18 years’ experience in strategic and operational management, project and risk management and governance and compliance.
A multi-degree qualified professional, Penelope has worked with the Australian Defence Force as well as the public and private sectors both nationally and internationally. She is the Founder and Chair of Women in Power, an association focusing on advancing and empowering women in industry and is an avid supporter of education in all forms, ensuring our future workers are as skilled as can be.
Penelope’s communication, safety and management skills have been repeatedly sought out by companies involved in high-risk industries including the construction, mining, oil and gas sectors, for projects around the world.
During her 10.5 years of service in the Royal Australian Navy, Penelope undertook strategic level appointments in project, human resource, risk and emergency management, as well as being a member of the Australian Defence Force Investigative Service.
A wicked sense of humour, exceptional learning agility and the ability to reverse park an 8,500 tonne warship all ensure that Penelope stands out in every crowd.
