Phil Davis's Biography

Canberra-born Phil Davis was one of the GIANTS' inaugural captains after arriving at the club as one of the first uncontracted players after being drafted to the Adelaide Crows. The key defender had a number of injury-interrupted years early in his career (including a serious kidney injury in 2014) but has got his body right in recent years to play his most consistent football. He captained the club from 2012-2019 and remains a key leader in the group. Intelligent both on and off the field, Davis has built a reputation as one of the most impressive media talents in the game.

Off-field, Davis is a regular across the game’s media platforms. He is a regular contributor on Seven’s AFL broadcasts and as part of ABC Grandstand’s AFL coverage. Graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney in 2019 and is now studying an MBA.

Davis has a diverse range of interests off-field. He has formed a strong relationships with global car brand Kia as an ambassador and is also one of adidas’ key AFL athletes.
