Sarah Bartholomeusz is the award-winning founder and principal of You Legal, an innovative law firm that specialises in protecting doctors and turning their medical experience into thriving practices. Known as the 'goddess of governance', she has over 18 years of experience as a lawyer in corporate and commercial law.
Sarah is passionate about providing legal support in a more human way, and she's on a mission to transform the way legal services are provided around the world.
She has written four books, including an Amazon bestseller, ‘How to Avoid a Fall from Grace: Legal Lessons for Directors’, which is a guide for Australian company directors at all stages of their career.
Sarah is the Chair of the not-for-profit, the Catalyst Foundation, in addition to serving on the South Australian Government’s Education Standards Board. She is also the Asia-Pacific Governance Director for the global not-for-profit, The Entrepreneur's Organisation.
When not lawyering, Sarah enjoys spending time with her kids, connecting with her family, singing in a choir, yoga, and starting her day with a morning run.

Throughout her career, both as a lawyer and as an entrepreneur, Sarah is a TEDx speaker and has also appeared on Sky News, Channel 10’s morning show Studio 10, the Weekend Australian, CEO Magazine, The Advertiser, and industry publications including the Law Management Hub, Short Press, Business News Australia, Legal Practice Intelligence, Australasian Lawyer, and Dynamic Business.
In addition to being featured on multiple podcasts, Sarah hosts her own podcast, Accountants on Purpose, where she showcases inspiring stories of accountants who are leaders in their field.
In 2015, Sarah published her first book, ‘How to Avoid a Fall from Grace: Legal Lessons for Directors’, which is a guide for Australian company directors at all stages of their career. It was a number one Amazon bestseller.
Her second book, ‘Kingpin: Legal Lessons from the Underworld’, was released in October 2016. It explores crucial legal lessons mainstream businesses can learn from the inherently risky and volatile underworld inhabited by the most infamous Kingpins in history.
Her third book, ‘Growing a Medical Practice: From Frustration to a High-Performance Business' was released in 2018. Due to Edition 1’s high demand, Sarah wrote Edition 2 which was released in 2021 as a hardcover and audio for medical practices to grow and prosper from the learnings.
Sarah is also a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and CEO Magazine.
