An experienced environmental communicator and ambassador, Sheree Marris shares her knowledge to educate, empower and entertain her audiences.
Sheree’s well known secret to success is to make information fun, sexy and entertaining! A complete natural, what you see is what you get with Sheree – a vivacious storyteller who captures the attention and imagination of her audiences. Through radio talk-back, television appearances, hosting documentaries and featuring in commercials, 30 year old Sheree has gained a reputation and profile among the Australian community, national corporate organisations and all levels of government as an expert in her field.
A regular guest speaker at universities, school groups and youth organisations, Sheree has become a role-model for young environmentalists. Her down-to-earth approach in delivering education makes her sessions entertaining, informative and above all interesting to people from all disciplines.
Her innovative work and conservation efforts have been rewarded through numerous accolades including three Young Australian of the Year awards: the National Unilever Environment Award, Young Australian of the Year (Victoria) and Victorian Unilever Environment Award. She has also been the recipient of the Queens Trust for Young Australians and is an award winning author with four publications under her belt including the recently published KamaSEAtra - Secrets of Sex in the Sea, a humorous read about the unique reproductive methods of seas creatures and the parallels they have with humans.
In January 2002 Sheree established her own environmental communications consulting business called Visions of Blue, now under the umbrella of the parent company ‘The Sustainability Group’. In the short time the business has been in operation, Sheree has been commissioned by some of Australia’s leading national organizations including The Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Life Saving Victoria, Sustainability Victoria and Boost Juice Bars, to provide sustainability advice, consultancy services and initiate sustainability/environmental projects on their behalf.
One project highlight was The Octopuses’ Garden, Victoria’s first snorkeling trail, which was established at Rye Pier with sponsorship from Transfield Services. This innovative project received in excess of $600 K free media coverage nationally and internationally.
At the end of 2002 Channel 10 aired a two-part documentary series about marine life in Port Phillip Bay. This documentary was written, produced and presented by Sheree and future documentaries with the network are planned.a
