The Kicks's Biography

The Kicks are an exciting line up, featuring Darwin’s top musicians and arrangers; a natural compliment to the sassy vocals of fresh Adelaide powerhouse, Natalie Pellegrino.

Guitarist G Boenkendorf (Newcastle/Darwin), has played with some of Darwin’s best original acts like The Moving Targets and Barry Brown and the Get Down. G is keen to bring a fresh sound to Darwin’s nightlife scene.

Drummer Rick Knight (Melbourne/Darwin), co-creator of Darwin’s Barry Brown and the Get Down, has applied his media presence and funk drumming to revive Darwin’s cover band scene.

The Kicks feature songs from Amy Winehouse, James Brown, Adele, Angus and Julia Stone, Jet, Lady GaGa, Aretha Franklin and more.

The Kicks mix has been selected to work with pubs, clubs, corporate events and for private functions. The song selections are recognisable, the arrangements are original and the energy is captivating – The Kicks are sure to be the best thing to happen to Darwin night life in years.
