Comprised of bonefide 'stars' of musical theatre of the Australian and international stage, each member of 'The Leading Men' has been hand-picked from an elite group of gifted artists who have all played not one but several leading roles in the world's most-loved musicals and have won awards in every category of Australia's Entertainment Industry.
The Leading Men perform hits from the world’s leading musicals. Providing a unique twist, The Leading Men recount personal comic anecdotes between songs giving a rare insight into the world of musical theatre. Songs are given a whole new flavour, surprising and delighting audiences.
Delivering a truly ‘wow’ factor, The Leading Men provide an evening of unprecedented enjoyment, sophistication and dynamic fun. Songs performed from various shows include: Beauty and the Beast, Jekyll and Hyde, Aspects of Love, Chess, JC Superstar, Chicago, Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Me and My Girl, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Annie Get Your Gun, Don Giovanni and The Barber of Seville.
The first and only Australian act of its kind, The Leading Men provide one of the most charming collections of charismatic stage personalities presented in a long time.
Sophistication all the way from their white tuxedo jackets to the red roses on their lapels, the boys have been described by Sir Michael Parkinson as as good as anything he's seen anywhere else in the world and compared to suave European opera act ‘Il Divo”.
In keeping with that style, the highlight of the show is a humorous medley featuring hit songs by legendary Australian artists as diverse as Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, Peter Allen, ACDC and Slim Dusty. The twist is that this medley is sung in Italian! They can also perform a medley of musical show stoppers and torch songs traditionally sung by female stars such as Hopelessly Devoted to You, All That Jazz, I don't Know How to Love Him, Mama Mia, Memory, Lady Marmalade and so on...sung instead by males these songs take on a whole new meaning! The Leading Men have performed hundreds of shows for royalty, heads of state and celebrities from all industries and regularly perform at weddings and private celebrations.
THE SOPHISTICATION OF A "LEADING LADY"
The show can be further enhanced with the inclusion of a Leading Lady. Adding grace and elegance, the presence of a female star allows for the inclusion of some of musical theatre's most loved duets including All I Ask of You, You're the One That I Want, The Prayer and Time to Say Goodbye.
